I just bought this 1000 size Shimano Sienna and it makes a little bit of noise when it spins. Can you hear it in the video? I know that it is a budget reel, but is this to be expected? It’s barely anything and it’s probably not a problem. I only ask because I have an older style, 500 size version of this reel and it is absolutely silent in operation. I’m thinking this might be a classic case of “they don’t make ‘em like they used to”, but I wanted to know if there is something wrong with it.
Full disclosure: I bought the reel new in original packaging off eBay. Is that where I went wrong? It’s the only place I could find it available to ship for free in a reasonable amount of time. Even Amazon had the estimated delivery a couple weeks out.
Anyway… I’m sure it will treat me just fine, I’m just curious if I got a lemon.

There’s a chance it wont be as loud when there is load on it. My Daiwa LT reels are that way.
