This summer I been trying to catch bsp with some success but I still miss a lot of fish(lots of bites but not a lot of hook up) .I been using Carolina rigs with 1oz-1.5oz barrel sinker and 2”-2.5” grubs and paddle tails on size 4# hooks. I lose so many tails on these soft plastics that it makes me think maybe my hooks are too small. Or maybe I’m not doing something right on the retrieve.Should I set the hook when I get a bite or do I wait till the fish eats it. Any advice on this end would be great.
