I just ordered this, it’s my first kayak. I intend to put a trolling motor on it in the very near future, how would i do that and which one is best? Also what battery would last longest? I’m in Florida I’d be fishing lakes, creeks, springs, everything freshwater basically. I have a wheel cart, car cover thing, lights, whistle, vest, back of seat cooler, multiple clip straps, phone strap, dry bag, net, rod float attachment things. Is there anything else I need/would recommend?

Question. If you’re planning on adding a trolling motor, why did you opt for the pdl version? If you were planning on getting a motor you could have saved some money, saved weight, gotten the footrests and saved a bunch of cockpit space by just getting the non-pdl version of the same kayak.
I’m going to give the same advice in this thread, do not buy anything more until you get on the water a few times.
There’s plenty of stuff I bought because other people said I needed it that I’ve since discovered I don’t need for my style of fishing.
My first was a paddle kayak, on which I put a trolling motor. Currently I have a pedal kayak – without a motor, because it doesn’t need one. The pedal drive is the motor, my legs are the battery.
A crate. Either buy one, buy a slip-over and steal a milk crate, or DIY.
Also: life vest, drive leash, manual bilge pump, and if you fish at night and/or around lots of motor vessels = get a visibility flag and light
Take a look at the jet kayak
As someone who owns the exact same kayak, I think you should take it out a few times and figure it out as you go. Personally, the only two accessories I found I really needed were a cart to launch into the ramp and an anchor system. Anything other than these are purely cosmetic or minuscule upgrades.
