My first time putting line in a reel. How did I do?

It’s hard to be sure, but you might have put a little too much on. When that happens, loops of line can slip off the top of the spool even when the bail is closed. Then they turn into birds nests. A general rule of thumb is the amount of line on the spool should come to about 1/8” below the “rim” of the spool.
