I have this reel that was damaged on the first use and I only have the rod that works, but my question is if I can put a baitcast on a springcast rod like the one in the photo. I mean, I know I could use it, but would it affect anything like the shooting distance or something?

  1. I think with spin casting rods like Zebcos are made for other spincasters, especially some of them are all one piece and not interchangeable. I think other rod types are compatible with spinning and bait casting

  2. Yes spincast and baitcast use the same rods. Just make sure the bait caster is the correct size for the rod.

What matters most is the type and size of line and how heavy/wind resistant your bait is. I stiff/fast rod isnt going to throw a 1/8 rooster tail 30 ft, if the rod is too slow, then it can snap during your cast
