I recently acquired a bunch of reels and fishing gear and will probably end up selling the box of reels to someone that will use them but I just want to know if there is any sort of value here.

Thanks!

  1. The second reel

That’s a Penn Senator 470 Special fishing reel, a classic piece of gear! Penn, an American brand, is known for its durable saltwater reels, and the Senator series has been a favorite for big-game fishing since the mid-20th century. The “470” indicates its line capacity and gear ratio, designed for heavy-duty use with lines up to around 40-50 lbs test. The “Ball Bearing” and “Made in USA” markings highlight its robust construction, featuring ball bearings for smooth operation, ideal for tackling large fish like tuna or marlin. The reel’s vintage design suggests it could be from the 1950s to 1970s, though exact age would depend on serial numbers
