First time with a bait caster – is this too much line + does it look a little messy?

Id say youre at max capacity. You can still see a little tiny sliver of the top of your spool to the right side over your thumb bar. As far as your school looking messy you’ll notice that starts tighten up after you make a couple of successful long cast everything kind of cleans itself up

I wound t worry about that. The first time you cast it the line is gonna go all over the place and end up looking like a rat’s nest, no matter how much line you have. Have fun!🤣
