Hi everyone, I’m new to fishing and have been trying to catch mullets a couple of times. I’m using dough and small hooks, but the fish keep eating the dough off the hook without getting hooked. The water is clear, and I can see schools of them nibbling away without biting properly. What am I doing wrong?

Mullet fishing is incredible , try thinner line , 0,24 is insanly high. I usually fish with 0.20 in the reel and the hook with 0,12 or 0,14. The float should be the smallest , so around 1,5 grams or 3 grams. They mostly nibble , only the very large ones tend to deepthroat the hook. If the water is very clear they wont be agressive , try to go a bit deeper and the other things, maybe changing the bait for something harder to nibble , small ground worms tend to work or tiny bits of sardines…
