TLDR- I have 2 rods- a 6’6 medium action shakespeare and 5’ ugly stik light action, and 2 spincast reels- an early 90s Zebco33 with 8lb line and a new Zebco202 with 10lb line. I’m fishing for bass from shore in a pretty big pond, lots of vegetation on the bottom with some small lilly pads and tree stumps poking out but an otherwise clean surface. Not super deep, and it’s probably >1ft deep till you get like 10-20ft out. Populated mostly by largemouths, saw on fishbrain that some ppl have caught ones up to 4lbs. Which reel should go on which rod for this situation? any other advice is welcome 👍🏻

Long version/more detail-im self taught, started in may and haven’t learned how to use a spinning reel yet, i know spincasters are for babies but im baby and it’s what i got LOL.
I took the spinning reel off of a 5’ light Ugly stik quick trigger combo and replaced it with a 90s Zebco33 i got at a garage sale, WD-40’d the shit out of the reel and it casts really smooth, works like new. I bought the 6’6 medium shakespeare and the Zebco202 to use together, but since getting the 33 a few weeks ago it’s mostly been my back up/bobber + worm + leave it be setup. the 202 doesn’t cast great, probably because it’s pretty dirty and low on line. I prefer the 5’ ugly stik and zebco33 which is why i have them together but im hoping to catch some big fish in this pond and am not sure if that’s the right setup to do so.
Assuming i WD40 the 202 and put new line on, which reel would you put with which rod ? I’m sure the 202 nor the 33 is meant for catching bigger fish/fishing through cover, but is one of them better suited for it if it’s all i got? thanks in advance!
