I just received TFO's new IntraCoastal spinning rod as a replacement for a broken Tactical Inshore and am looking for reel recommendations. This is a 6' 9" ML that I will use to cast spoons/jigs in SWFL, usually targeting things like Pompano and Spanish Mackerel. The rod it is replacing had a Shimano Miravel 3000 which has since been moved to another setup. I'm looking for something similarly lightweight to facilitate lots of casts and jigging action. I am a bit of a Shimano fanboy, but open to trying something comparable from a competing brand.

I would go to a local fishing store and try out a bunch of different reels. Because then you can form your own opinion about which reel fits best in YOUR hand. Then you can come back with your question.
