Do I just make a knot and tie another line of braid together?

Take it all off and put a few layers of mono backing on it then put the braid over if you’re freshwater fishing.

You could but it’s full enough that it may hamper casting a bit when the knot hits the guides. Did you put on mono backing? I would probably unspool the braid back onto a spool and add more mono backing, then re-spool.
