Back in July of this year i bought a used Pre-1998 Cimarron fly reel and downloaded the PDF instructions for reversing the wind direction from the Ross Reels web site. The PDF listed the directions were applicable to Pre-1998 Cimarron, Gunnison and the Saltwater reels. I just checked and it appears most of the PDF instructions for legacy reels are gone.
Until Ross gets their act together (actually, the parent company Mayfly Outdoors), here is the PDF instructions converted to jpeg for those who could use it.
