I got a really good deal (I think) on this brand new Donyns combo, and paid 130 for the set. I was going to purchase a medium rod and a different reel but was offered this new setup and couldn’t pass it up. My only worry is that it is a heavy rod. Is that going to limit me on fishing style and bait much?

Dobyns rods tend to be labeled heavier than they actually are. The rod is rated for 1/4-1oz which is pretty typical of MH rods in other brands. It’s a good all-around rod.
When looking at rods, don’t worry about the labels of H, MH, M, etc. look at the lure weight ratings.
It’s heavy power but a fast action, should be just fine fishing just about any style within that 1/4 to 1oz lure weight range. It’ll be really good for topwater frogs in particular, heavy power helps with getting a powerful hook set and the fast action helps with walking the frog. The fast action is also good for detecting bites with lures that aren’t topwater. Looks like a solid setup to me, tight lines brotha 🤙
