Never have I found a hobby in my life where I could spend so much time doing it, talking about it and researching it, yet frequently see rigs and gear where I'm like what the hell is that and how is it used?

Similar to a planer board, runs off that center pin and “reel” to set distance. Your line gets attached to it with a downrigger clip.
Moves your baits out to the side away from the bait. popular in trolling applications.

Saw a guy using it on instagram. He always poted the video of hik using it. But NEVER catch anything
