The Suwannee Bass is a rare subspecies of the black bass. It has a limited range that’s mostly focused in North Florida and South Georgia. It is said that they do not go past this range because of the abundance of crawfish. Crawfish is their main source of food. They hold the nickname Florida Smallmouth and South Ga Smallmouth. During the spawn they turn dark blue and teal on their bellies and face. My favorite bass species!
