Hi. I bought this stupid thing for 20 bucks at walmart. It’s a spincast and I know nothing about it, all I know is the little cog on the front adjusts the drag and the button on the bottom makes the mechanism come out when I unscrew the top.
Turning the reel does not reel it in. What am I doing wrong?

I bought this in a desperate attempt to kill my boredom while out of state and am currently not succeeding. Any advice or engagement with the post so someone can help is appreciated
With a spincast like that, a little metal cup with a peg winds the line onto the spool
The spool doesn’t turn when you crank the handle.
Notice how the threaded part is spinning
