Really like the rifle grip look to it, assuming they’re both a bit on the old side, would the rod still be good for fishing? Or do they go brittle or something? Reel seems to work perfect after a little cleaning and greasing, very neat retro look still a good wall piece even if it’s not safe for fishing 😎

I’d keep that as decoration and not even try to fish with it.

I have a Diawa Silvercast (A smaller model than yours I believe) from my grandfather that I cleaned and greased up and I use it every time I go fishing, I love it. I don’t know anything about the rod but just give it a go, I bet it’ll be fine.
For what it’s worth you can get a new cherrywood and silver cast lol
