Fam, I’m giving in to the plopper, what’s everyone’s favorite size? Also what else do I need to to catch numbers this fall run!?!?

  1. Smallie or large mouth? Largemouth 75 or 90, smallie 110 or 130. With the smallies you are trying to get their territorial reaction, so the larger lets you work more water and make a larger racket.

  2. Have had my best results with the Plopper 70 and 90, both in the loon and bluegill color/pattern. Haven’t caught anything on a 60 yet. The larger sizes really seem to get their attention better. Have even caught panfish on the larger ones.

  3. I’ve always used the 110 size in the loon color. Caught tons of large and smallmouth along with pike on it.

  4. I’ve had 3 75’s that don’t want to swim right so I’ve pretty much ruled that size out for using and buying anymore. 90’s cast a fucking mile and always have good action.

  5. It depends on where you live, the species of baitfish, and the average size of the bass in your water. I lived in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania for most of my life. If I threw any whopper plopper in the 110 or larger, I wasn’t getting bit. At least not by keeper (12″) sized fish.

Now I’m fishing Table Rock Lake in a TBF Semi-final next weekend. The plopper style bait I’ll be throwing is 4 inches (a 101 size if you’re measuring by millimeters like the Whopper Plopper is sized at).

  6. I like the 75 best myself but there’s applications for most sizes… I honestly prefer a Berkley Choppo in 75 personally

  7. The first fish I caught on it (90) was also my first trout just the other day. I then caught 2 rock bass on it within half an hour . Also it was my 2nd cast out at this spot. Caught a nice bluegill first cast with it today too. It’s such a weird performer for me it always catches something I’m not expecting.

  8. 90 size is good. Ploppers are fun to fish as well as the good ol’ heddon torpedo. Also don’t sleep on a good popper as well.
