Truckee River. Forcing myself to only fish streamers for a bit and it’s slowly paying off. Definitely a learning curve, and not catching a lot of fish (this was the only one this morning although I missed at least 3 and had several follows), but it’s really fun.

That’s a chunker.
What lessons have you learned about fishing them. I never really have fished with them would love to know what you have found
Nice fish. There is definitely a learning curve. Twitching the streamer in just the right manner trout want them to be twitched in different conditions is an art.
Stripsetting and effectively twitching a streamer is an art form the same way perfectly presenting and setting a dry fly is and I will die on that hill I love streamer fishing lol
Throwing and stripping streamers is great but don’t forget you can jig them through deep troughs. I’ve picked off nice fish that were chilling on the bottom who didn’t even look at the faster stripping movements.
Streamers are something I want to get better at. Tying them and fishing them. Nice fish.
Shoot we have the opposite problem- I use a bugger 99% of the time and can’t ever catch anything with a nymph or anything else lol
i’m going to the Truckee this week! What access point do you recommend?
Yes you are!
