Probably not but it’s definitely but I’d say for a 2 pound bass you’re hitting the ceiling

I run 1/4 oz for river SM bass in the 1-2lb range.

I’ve had em hit a 5/8 one, but I get a lot more bites on small squarebill crankbaits. I feel that while that would work, you’d do better with a much smaller one. Go for like 1/4 or 3/8 if you need more mass.

Larger bass would hit that tho.

  3. Went out with a crankbait for the first time yesterday similar to that one. I been fishing for two and a half months now and yesterday was the best day I had. Caught two bluegills and one sub pound bass. I also lost two nice looking bass with that crankbait. Usually I the only thing that gets me anything is a Texas Rig, most I have caught in a day is one, and if I get a bite I consider it a good day. Now that my confidence is back up I will be going back to the hook and worm as I did notice that the crankbait does hook up nasty into the fish.

  4. Ive caught bass which are smaller than the lure on longer lures than that. They can be incredibly greedy
