Go easy on me, I’m new to fishing after a 35 year hiatus…

Anyway, I’ve been fishing my neighborhood pond lately, and I’ve noticed a few bass that I’ve caught look different – they don’t have a spiney dorsal fin.

Is this a largemouth, or something else?
