I did it! On my third trip, I caught 3 beautiful perch, I feel great. New guys, don’t lose hope. I’ve been reading here a lot and the tips helped, thank you everyone.
My question: I was able to cast my spinners about 15 m (50’). I feel like it should be more. I have a 6’6 Ugly Stik, and use 8lb mono line. Spinners are about 3/8 oz. I tried 1/16 as well, it was worse, (but gave me one perch anyway 🙂 ) which is expected as far as I know. I read that 1/8-5/8 oz should be the lure weight for 6’6 GX2. Could it be a matter of technique and be improved, is it normal, or is there something else I should now?
P.S. Farewell rooster tail and thank you for my first fish.

  1. spinners arent too aero dynamic and 6’6 is rather short, i think i get 20m or so with my 1/16oz-3/8oz 6’4 rod
