The "200" in the name has me thinking it's approximately a "2000" but then I seem to recall reading somewhere that a Pflueger size 20 is more like what Shimano and others might call a 1000, so that has me thinking that the numbers mean very little between manufacturers.

This is the only rod/reel I have. It’s an old Eagle Claw combo. I actually rather enjoy the rod (a 6’ light power graphite Eagle Claw “Powerlight”) but the reel, which I am assuming was always junky, (I not even the first owner!) is certainly pretty trashed now after I have spent a summer having a riot catching lots of fish with it!

I need to replace it with something and I want to get something similarly sized as it seems well suited to the rod.

*EDIT – I am aware of the embarrassing lack of line on the reel. 🙂

Thanks for the help!

    i’m assuming it’s a 20 or a “2000”.

“Reel sizes typically increase numerically, with a 1000 or 2000 series being smaller and a 3000 or 4000 series being larger. A Size 20 reel is thus on the smaller side of this spectrum.”
    -Google.

From my understanding 1000-2500 is light freshwater (trout, white bass, crappie) 2500-3500 is medium fresh to light salt, and 4000+ is salt.
