Okay I caught this beautiful wild rainbow on the Clarkfork in Missoula MT. What is the bump by the gills? Maybe a fluke or some sort of parasite? I’ve seen a lot of these fish and I’ve never seen this before?

Fish herpies most likely. Call your areas fish and wildlife to report it if they don’t have a spot on their website.
