I’m always getting skunked every time I go here, despite using the same tactics that work for me on other similarly sized bodies of water in the area. It’s definitely the most pressured of the spots I go to, but I’ve never even gotten so much as a bite from anything besides a turtle.
I’m primarily targeting bass, but allegedly there’s snook, the occasional tarpon, large channel cats, blue tilapia, and plenty of bream.
21 acre Florida pond with a hard sand and clay bottom. There’s really only 3 small areas to fish from the bank, and then the fishing pier.
Is the pressure driving fish away from the only accessible spots on the bank? Do I need a kayak to have any luck here? Should I try going 100% finesse and stop trying moving baits all together? I usually try a few different lures before resorting to a Texas or wacky rigged senko – this seems to work everywhere but here. Is it possible so many people fish here with live bait that the bass couldn’t care less about artificial lures?
Water clarity last time I went was not great, maybe 2-3 feet, and the water itself seems greener than other bodies of water near by that have clearer water.
