Old guy gave it to me and my friend for free, has a spot for a trolling motor and a main motor, what hp should I shoot for?

  1. I have a 3.5hp Mercury 4 stroke on mine, does just fine. Hardly use it, most of the time I’m good with just the trolling motor

  2. Looks similar to a pond prowler or a plastic Jon boat. I think you can go up to a 3hp outboard but a trolling motor is what I have on mine.

  3. It’s a Pond Prowler/Bass Raider. Good for 1 or 2 people on a calm pond powered by an electric trolling motor. Will not handle anything more than that. If you want to put an outboard on it, the current model on Bass Pro’s website says its rated for a 3.5hp

If it were me I’d just smack a 55lb+ trolling motor on the back and call it a day. It’s what I use on mine(similar boat) and it does just fine and it’s nice and quiet.

  6. Tiller steer 25 hp Yamaha 4 stroke should push it along pretty good… Take a look on the hull to see if there’s a plate showing max power.

Honda 2.3 on the back, Jonny boats motor kit for steering, and a Minn kota 55 on the front.
