This fish had a 6/0 tak-offset hook partially stuck in it's throat with a wire leader attached to it. I managed to get it out without hurting the fish. I guess someone snagged their line and cut it off or caught the bass and couldn't get it out and threw the bass back.

More like a smallbelly bass! Good you got the old hook out. Looks like it was causing feeding problems for the poor fish. Hoping it fattens up for next time!
