Great day of sun and fun on the Esopus Creek in Phoenicia, NY, the Catskills. My Clearwater 5wt snapped the day before, so I was fishing an Echo Base courtesy of Catskill Outfitters. Hooked this nice little bow about 20 minutes after losing a big brown courtesy of this n00b’s tight lining. Parachute Adams right through the riffle. Nephews had a blast, and the root beer was ice cold at home.

Nice! And I like that stretch of water. Honestly tho, for me, the hookup is the thing. Everything after that is bonus.
New Yorks water are underrated. Congratulations on your new addiction, and your first trout.
On an Adams. Classic! Congrats
