I just got a used 11.5 ft Brooklyn fishing kayak and tested it out on a 2 night backcountry fishing/paddling trip in the Adirondacks, setting up camp on an island and jigging for Lake Trout with my friends extra fish finder jury-rigged. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
I got super lucky with this tank of a Laker. I got to watch it eat my lure 10 feet under the kayak in crystal clear water, and it then proceeded to take me down to 50 feet and back up twice. Total count was 3 large Lake Trout, a Splake, and a Lake Whitefish caught trolling. Im definitely hooked on this style of fishing and hoping to get my own fish finder soon.
My friends decked out kayak is a Bonafide SS127 for anyone wondering.
