Check to see if you can find stocking records. Fins aren’t always a good indicator as density and water quality play a large part in hatchery fin erosion not to mention it can vary quite a bit from facility to facility. Fins will also l regenerate over time. It’s a beautiful fish. That’s what matters most. 🙂

Looks like a brook trout, but interesting colors compared to what I’m used to on the East Coast. Brook trout have a square tail, lake trout have a forked tail, and splake are somewhere in between.
