Stupid question I feel but I’m new to Fly fishing and I was up in the northeast for a few days fishing some wider river areas and also some brooks (pictures below) if I don’t see fish in the clear water is it worth fishing or just keep moving till is see fish? The pair I’ve caught was in a section where I saw fish actively moving and caught them on dry flies so the confidence is low when I can’t see fish. Thanks for the replies!

Yeah 98% of the time I don’t see fish in the water til I pull them out. They’re very well camouflaged even in clear water

  2. If you can see the fish, the fish can see you! Better to fish waters you aren’t looming over like a hungry beast that’s looking for prey

  3. If we’re talking about dead flat body of water. Well yeh, cuz where could they hide??? But if it has covers, definitely. They’ll rush out from cover and dash!! They’re very agile
