Long story short. I just started fishing . I’ve been fishing the shores of Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin. Known for walleye along with other varieties, I’ve caught two tiny large mouths and one tiny bluegill off of a worm and bobber. I’ve been trying to bounce jigs off the bottom but nothing is working. Is this a decent setup for walleye or bass? Any advice.

  1. I fish for walleye in MN, mostly on the river. I have better luck with nightcrawlers, minnows, or leeches to be honest.

That jig is a little small for that size of soft plastic, also it’s upside down. I like the Power Bait ripple shads for walleye, usually fire perch. A curly tail is another good choice.

Go up a size on your jig and the plastic is backwards. Otherwise it looks good to me. Experiment with different colors and different jig and plastic color combos.
