Hey all, I’m a broke college student and I caught my first nice sized coho in South Puget sound today while sea run cutthroat fishing. Needless to say, I’m hooked and I’m looking for a budget friendly setup I can use in both fresh and salt water. I caught the coho on a 5/6 weight Walmart rod and I need to get a beefier setup for when the chums start running. I’m from SW WA and I’m surrounded by several rivers with bigger fish so I want a setup I can use all across the PNW. I was eyeing this setup https://pacificflyfishers.com/products/alaska-salmon-affordable-rod-reel-outfit but I want to ask you guys for some advice before I pull the trigger. Any help is appreciated.
