Questions about 8’9” OCP co SOT kayak.
I’m 5’7, 202 lbs, and I’ve been kayak fishing for 10 years, but, age is catching up to me now. I currently have a fantastic NRS Star inflatable fishing kayak. It’s 12 feet long & 65 lbs, built well with a beach chair.
I’m now looking at a 8.9 Ocean Paddling Co. kayak. It’s the orange and black camo, no fancy stuff, but solid. I’m aware shorter kayaks don’t track well, and typically have a wider beam and are a low center of gravity, but, would it be a terrible choice? I’m looking at this for the ease of moving it when water levels are low so I need to pack it over rocks, side & slippery surfaces and down & up hills.
