I caught a trout on a zebra midge. After 10+ years of flyfishing I had never caught anything with a zebra midge, tried so many times. I know a lot of people say its there one go to fly and use it all of the time. I ended up catching a few on it actually.

Its hard to have confidence in such a small fly untik you have one really good day with them. Then….tou realize that has been the way all along
This has to be one of the wildest things I’ve heard. If I’m nymphing, a zebra midge is always on the bottom of my rig, and it always catches +90% of the fish. Truly my confidence nymph. Funniest thing is you never know if you’re going to catch a 3in fish or an 18in fish on it
