Does anyone ever use an upside down paddle tail? Might go with chartreuse colored skirt to have some color

Never tried it upside-down, but keeping the all white is a solid move. Especially if the water is murky. Sharp contrast with get you bites more often than you think. All black all or all white are some of my go to for murky and pumpkin being my top for crystal clear.

Why not right side up, does it not work in the chatter that way? Was going to try this last trip but went with other lures

I can’t imagine that orientation matters at all. That blade is making so much noise and disturbance, the paddle is going to be moving pretty chaotically. I will say that paddle tail can be pushed all the way up over the skirt keeper. As is, a bass will pull it right off the hook.

The chatterbait was designed to be fished with or within a trailer. Then they tested trailers and here is what they found:
– pitch and straight retrieve requires a trailer with a tail that moves as little as possible
– jigging does not matter the trailer. I use craws on there and I still get hits
