Picked up this combo last week and got to try it out this morning. I personally love the quick release system but I’m unsure if the 30lbs drag is an accurate rating? I may be used to my bait-caster at 15lbs max drag and spinning reels are capable of a lot more? But nevertheless it was the reel I wanted and the rod was just a bonus as I’m gonna get a telescopic rod to slap that reel on.

floating walleye rig (flouro)
I’m just curious on experiences or opinions with this reel/combo as I’m not planning on getting another for a while (other than the telescopic rod for this reel)

I mean on one hand, if it’s in your budget and you’re happy with it great pick up,
On the other hand, it’s a 55$ combo. You get what you pay for, is it as smooth as a more expensive set up, maybe not. Will it last as long, maybe not.
But if it suits your needs then perfect!
and if it falls apart well it’s only 50$
