I just got my fish – Jerome marcus the 3rd – 2 months ago and i wanna make his tank a bit better. his tank is 6 gallons, and i do weekly water changes and so far monthly full tank cleaning. Im very very nervous to try real plants and his water is that colour due to the drift wood i have. Any advice?

Not bad but not the best, don’t be afraid to try real plants, they’ll improve your fishes life and you’ll tank will be beautiful. It is it bit pricey tho
The plants you have do look soft, so that’s good. I like that he’s got places to lay and places to hide. The brown water/ tannins from the driftwood are actually good for the betta.
During full cleans, just don’t ever clean or replace the filter cartridge/sponge if you can help it because that’s where the good bacteria is living and keeps your tank cycled. If it gets clogged up so much that water isn’t flowing through it, you can rinse it out in the dirty tank water that was taken out during water change.
