I just cleaned his tank yesterday and noticed he has a tiny white spot on his head near his right eye today. Could this be ich or a fungal infection? How should I proceed with treatment? Water parameters were just checked yesterday. Ammonia was .25 or less, 0 nitrites and a little less than 5 ppm nitrates. He is in a 7gal heated and planted tank with a sponge filter

I should add that he isn’t acting out of the ordinary. He is still coming up to me and being lively.
You had ammonia? Is your tank cycled?
Ammonia should ALWAYS be zero ppm. Non-existent.
