got this boy yesterday and he was VERY active in the cup at the store. put him in a cycled tank, drip acclimated, all he does is glass surf rn. i'm not too concerned rn since hes new but since i fed him this morning i've reallly only seen him swim back and forth on the side facing my desk where i sit. is he stressed or just weird? tank is 5 gal and all parameters are good

glass surfing is super common for new bettas! if he doesn’t stop in a week or two then id be more concerned, one thing you can do for him is limit the light. keep the light off, or on for less time/dimmer than normal for the next couple weeks while hes adjusting. helps a bit with stress!
