my friend gave me a 150 dollar bass pro shops gift card, which means i can only buy from BPS. So far, i’ve found this, is it any good, or do you recommend any pairings or combos. I’m fishing socal saltwater, don’t ask why i just love baitcasters.

Gift card eh.. Lucky you. But honestly don’t go for a too expensive pole. If it wasn’t a gift card situation I’d be getting something from Walmart or temu

Honestly, you should just spend $200 plus warranty because bass pro basically charges you $27-$50 depending on the product for the warranty if that product breaks. The product can either be replaced or you can put that money towards a more expensive rod or reel. After buying that rod or reel again you just have to pay the same price for the warranty again and if it breaks again within two years you can repeat the process. My dog and I tend to snap my rods every 4 to 6 months of fishing, warranty comes in clutch. I have a MH fish eagle with a Lews TP2 and a MH Spin fish eagle with a Shimano Sedona 400
