Roommate moved out a few months ago and left this on my bed without telling me. Can’t really find anything about it online. Tools seem to be functional, but lots of rust. Is it worth cleaning and trying to use? Or should I just invest in a new tying kit? Also how should I go about cleaning it?

The Bobin looks good to me
With a lot of cleaning up. The last thing you want is rust grabbing your thread and materials. That whip finish tool would whip finish me 😂
Honestly, you’re best buying new tools and making a project out of refurbishing those. Then by the time they’re done, you’ll know whether they’ll be able to do what you need them to do.
Get yourself some acrtone. Soak the metal parts over night (be careful it will melt glue/varnish), brush it off with a little steel wool and you’re golden. Looks like an awesome set. 😁
Personally I would pick a couple of the more useful tools and give them a good scrub with some steel wool and then some 1500 grit sandpaper from the automotive shop. These could be nice. A few you’ll just have to toss.
