I fly fished for a handful of years and still do occasionally. But I wanted to take the knowledge I learned from fly fishing and apply it to gear fishing. One thing I took from fly fishing is the importance of a single hook when your intention is releasing the fish. I’m not here to criticize, if you like trebles, fish them.

After burying one in my thumb this year I swore them off and began experimenting with alternatives. These hooks have worked well on spoons, so I threw some on a couple sinking rapalas. I copied the design from a company called Vanfook.
