For starters, I am assuming this betta is a boy since it is so large so feel free to let me know if that is correct. Besides that, I have been worried if he is constipated or bloated. He seems to be quite large but is he just obese? What should I do if he is either of those?
Also he has what I think is an egg spot after looking some stuff up. Yesterday he had some stringy poop that eventually came off and I had assumed the possible egg spot was stuck poop. Could still be poop but not sure.
I need help! It was living in a 1 gallon tank with just water in it. I put him in a 5.5 gallon tank with a heater and conditioned water + live plants. I plan on getting more plants (red root floaters coming soon) and I have a filter but was waiting to put that in until I can add some aqua-soil for the plants. (Gonna take him out and redo the tank).
He’s been in here for about 3 days btw. Please let me know any tips and if there is anything I need to do for him. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

holy fuck that’s the fattest betta i’ve ever seen
Seems a bit overweight. Have you checked the Reddit betta weight scale? If it’s like that then I’m pretty sure a good solution would be to fast him frequently. And don’t feed too much as that will worsen the problem. I’d say about 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon if you feed pellets. Fasting one or two days a week will make him less overweight and he will live a normal life afterwards. I’m not much of a betta expert but yeah these are my tips and they should probably work from my research on bettas. (if anyone seeing this disagrees with me feel free to tell me)
oh nvm I never saw the second photo it’s either overweight or obese (might even be morbidly obese) So yeah follow the tips I gave you (if they’re correct) and please research a lot as this is a serious problem and it could pass if left untreated. Fasting and feeding less is the best solution. Try and keep him alive while you can as this problem will not be easy to solve.
He seems bloated I would cut back food for three days, feed a few daphnia shrimp when he’s ready. Don’t overfeed for remaining, make sure you get high quality food and fast him once in a while. You don’t need to feed every single day. If you do once a day but it all depends on your betta, sometimes twice a day is perfect but try to feed him maybe 5 pellets at a time

epsom salt bath, fasting. Epsom salt is 1tbsp/1 gallon of water (just for measurement, don’t need a whole gallon of water). When I was treating my fishies I just filled a plastic container with treated water, put salt in and let it float in the tank to
acclimate to the temp, then put fishie in for ~15-30 mins.
And I could be wrong but there looks to be very slight pineconing on the right side of the second image
Looks morbidly obese…
Try fasting for three days, feeding 4 pellets in the morning, and 3 in the evening.
Also, if any of you experts know better, pls correct me
