Basically, I have a budget of $250 for a reel. I’m very unknowledgeable when it comes to rods and reels so this’ll be my first purchase that’s not a combo set. I saltwater fish for Porgys, Stripped Bass and Bluefish so I’m looking for something that can handle the braid line that’ll accompany that which is like 30 pounds because that’s what I have on hand to use. If possible I would prefer the reel to have blue accents on it to match the rod I currently have. (also pls recommend the gear ratio and everything cause i’m not sure what that does).
I found this Tsunami Evict 2 which is what i’m looking for, which is 4000 size. but I haven’t seen any proper reviews on it. So if anyone has it lmk aswell.
Everything will help! Thanks šŸ˜€

  1. Shamino guy but I’m going to recommend the Penn Battle 3 size 4000

The workhorse of the saltwater reels. Nothing fancy and unfortunately not blue. Butttttttt will last you a decade vs Tsunami. Nothing beats this reel when it comes to working and pulling in nice strippers

Won’t be the lightest or the smoothest but will just work day in and day out. 110$ on sale

Shimano ” Gosa ” for fancy

With the Battle 3′ this will save your bank roll for your next reel when you have enough experience to know what you want and now you’ll have a second pole that will still be around for 10+ years

You’re fishing strippers you need 3 poles anyways when you get enough experience. 1 for throwing jerks and swims 2nd for catching small bait fish 3rd for the bait fish pole the monster pole probably 5000-6000 reel with 40+ braid ( big boys )

Daiwa or penn shimano is junk in my opinion too many issues from the last hand full I’ve bought
