Im looking to head down to the North Fork River in Missouri at the end of November for a few days. I was wondering if trout are common/in the Devils Backbone Wilderness Area? I know they're abundant closer towards Norfork Lake.
Also open to any other suggestions in AR or MO. Mainly just looking for an area i can back pack/ disperse camp while catching some trout.

I don’t know the wilderness area, but I did a trip to the Norfork last October and couldn’t catch anything in 4 days of fishing. I know there are still fish there but I also understand that a damn break a few years ago allowed striped bass to come into the river from the lake and has really impacted the trout population. Floating it we occasionally saw huge bass zoom past going up and down the river.
The Ozarks are kind of my nemesis though so take my experience with a grain of salt. I learned to fish in the Ozarks but didn’t start catching until I moved away.
