First time making a smitty sled and kind of thinking I went overboard. I plan on using it for ice camping as well so I need room for supplies, but what are your thoughts on this?

Hope your using a machine to drag that beast.

Yes, you went overboard. The weight on that takes away from the benefit of the smitty sled. I think you are going to struggle pulling that through snow while full of gear. To save on weight you would probably be better off just running some braces from ski to ski rather than the whole floor. For your sake, I hope I’m wrong. Good luck.

I will be towing it behind a 4 wheeler for sure. I may rethink the design.

You need to raise it up a few inches at least and get rid of those cross country skis for wider downhill skis. Consider putting a 3rd ski in the middle as well. As it sits now it’ll be fine in a few inches of snow but much more than that and those skis will bury and the bottom of the sled will drag.
