Not really ever been a fan of baitcasters and have only ever used right handed reels. Left handed makes way more sense to me for casting and having a bum shoulder from the army doesn't do well reeling with my right. Snagged this Lews Classic for a budget reel and paired it with an old Abu Garcia Crossfire Max 7'. The rod and reel are extremely light and the action on the rod is amazing. Suffix 10lb braid/8lb mono leader.

Bonus pics: Cleaned up dad's Curado on a Berkley Shock and his Penn 440 on a Shimano Stimula, 20lb braid on both for fishing in the gulf. The curado spooled a bit weird, up the sides more than the center, anyone else run into this with that reel? First odd spool of probably 10 reels this year.

And a 6" swimbait I painted up last night, would ya throw it? And at what?

  1. Yes many of times. You have such a cute little stand. I told the wife no new fishing equipment until 2027 for me. I counted my rods over the weekend, somehow two other ones showed up, I’m at 74 now. I think my son it’s messing with me
