Long time lurker first time poster here.

Been using the same cold weather gear a long time (like a really long time). Planning on splurging a bit on inner and outer layers, with the hope this new gear will last a decade or more like my old stuff.

A friend in BC recommended Sitka Arrowhead gear to me, says it has served him incredibly well for years, and they have good sales around the holidays. Definitely pricey but not unheard of for premium gear these days, and their certification down to -50F is certainly more than I need.

Looking for other recommendations to compare. What are your favorite brands for staying warm on the ice?

  1. I rock a base layer under a blackfish gale pullover. Good in Winnipeg with some striker bibs. Keeps the wind off. My problem is decent gloves. Never can find em.
