Labeled as a male alien, I see the alien part. I’ve had him for over 3 weeks now. He’s doing extremely well. Water parameters are perfect. Not sure why he’s isn’t coloring up more but he was very pale when I got him so he has improved.

He looks very sick, extremely skinny, have you been giving him any meds? Kinda looks like maybe saddleback?
usually females have a small white dot on their bellies right in front of their rear fin….. he looks like a wild type but definitely looks sick/stressed in this picture
Is this a “wild” betta? Wild bettas can look very different from the ones breadth have crazy colors and long find. Also if you see bettas in the wild a lot of them aren’t as colorful and have what we would call “stress” stripes. But if this is a wild betta they might not be from stress it could just be their coloring. Keep and eye to see how it changes and use stress coat if you have it. I’m curious about the type of betta because you said they’re eating well and acting fine.
Look for the little white dot under the belly, if they have it then it’s a girl. If not it’s probably a boy.
